The premiere took place during the European Cultural Forum at De Balie Theatre in Amsterdam. It was the first full-scale production of the Lunch Ukrainian Theatre featuring Dutch-Ukrainian actors.

The play addresses contemporary Ukraine, the aftermath of Maidan, and the difficult fate of Ukrainian women. Sasha, a recently deceased officer, refuses to accept death as an excuse to stop defending his homeland. His ghost returns, determined to rejoin the political struggle. His widow and pregnant stepdaughter resist, unwilling to relive their loss.

Drawing on Ukrainian literary mysticism, the play asks how to live after losing a loved one and how to reconcile with death. Through a surreal family story, it reflects unsentimentally on war’s impact and highlights gender differences in attitudes toward conflict.
