A Christmas detective

Created within a social and educational program supported by the Zaandam municipality, this project developed a creative rehabilitation initiative for Ukrainian refugees of all ages.

The six-month program included rehearsals, collaborative playwriting, and creative methods to help participants release physical and emotional trauma through art.

The resulting performance, Why Women Kill, is a humorous Christmas detective story filled with theatrical clichés, suspense, and mystery. The play dives into family secrets, intrigue, absurdity, and clowning. Participants ranged in age from 11 to 74, uniting four generations of Ukrainians. Two charity performances raised donations to support the Ukrainian army.
