Milena Kompaniiets
Actress
Milena Kompaniiets is a Ukrainian actress and psychologist, and a founding member of the United Ukrainian Theatre (UUTheatre) in Amsterdam. Born in Odesa, she trained in multimedia directing and acting before establishing herself in both theatre and film. Her career reflects a deep commitment to exploring the human condition, combining her artistic practice with her background in psychology.
Milena has appeared in numerous Ukrainian films and short films, including The Flaming River (2020), Sashenka (2022), The Illusion of Control (2022), and Alive (2023), which was presented at the CineGlobe Film Festival. On stage, she gained wide recognition for her performance in LoveXL (Maas Theater & Dans, Rotterdam, 2022), which earned her the Silver Krekel Theatre Award.
Since moving to the Netherlands in 2022, Milena has continued to balance stage and screen work. She was part of the ensemble of The Hague (2024) at De Balie, directed by Yasha Gudzenko—a phantasmagorical courtroom drama envisioning justice for war crimes. In 2025, she performed in UUTheatre’s production Chaos, which explored the mental and emotional lives of women under conditions of “Chronic Stress.”
In addition to her acting, Milena has worked as a hospital clown and continues to practice psychology, often bringing her insights into her artistic projects. Her ability to move fluidly between roles, genres, and disciplines makes her a unique voice within UUTheatre.
